Our client is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Specialist to join a high performing team on an initial 4-month contract, with the possibility of extension. This is a great opportunity for professionals looking to apply their expertise in a dynamic environment. Working Holiday Visa holders are encouraged to apply.

In this role, you’ll work across interconnected risk domains, providing Line 2 oversight and challenge to strengthen risk and compliance practices. You’ll partner with stakeholders to simplify complex issues, shape best practice frameworks, and embed risk considerations into everyday decision-making.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Utilise extensive experience in risk and compliance management with strong interpersonal skills to contribute to high-performing teams aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of risk and compliance practices 
  • Work as part of a cross-skilled team that can support a range of inter-connected risk domains, and contribute to appropriate Line 2 oversight and challenge to drive effective management of risks and compliance obligations.
  • Provide guidance and support into the design and implementation of risk management best practices and requirements, and how they are considered in decision making.
  • Analyse and synthesise risk and compliance data and insights and communicate recommendations to stakeholders to engage them to foster a culture of risk awareness and compliance across the organisation.
  • Authentically engage and collaborate with a range of internal stakeholders to help distil complex problems into simple and manageable actions that result in optimal business outcomes that serve our customers.
  • Offer subject matter expertise and technical advice to internal stakeholders on compliance-related matters to ensure current obligations/principles are understood (including when new legislation/policies come into effect).
  • Apply substantial expertise and experience along with critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to assess and resolve potential issues/breaches, and report outcomes to the Audit and Risk Committee where needed.
  • Lead and contribute to the identification, development, documentation and effectiveness review of key controls across top risks and compliance obligations.
We Need:
  • Experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or assurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide data-driven insights.
  • Expertise in risk control standards, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills – able to influence at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, coaching colleagues, and driving collaboration.
  • Familiarity with agile/Scrum methodology is an advantage.
