Join a leading global financial services firm with a strong local presence in Sydney. This is a key opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing the Product Governance and Suitability Risk frameworks within a highly regarded Wealth Management division.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing product and suitability risks across the firm’s Wealth Management business. This position requires a strong understanding of financial products, regulatory frameworks, and risk governance processes.
You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across risk, product, compliance, and front-office functions to ensure a consistent and robust approach to product governance and client suitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and further develop the Product Governance framework.
  • Analyse, assess, and monitor product and suitability risks.
  • Support new business initiatives and product approval processes.
  • Maintain and coordinate the firm’s Approved Product List.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk analysis on client books and new hires.
  • Review and approve new products via internal product committees.
  • Conduct suitability reviews across various products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with Product Governance policies and contribute to governance committee reporting.
  • Drive standardisation and consistency across risk management procedures and documentation.
Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in product or risk management within financial services, preferably from a top-tier institution.
  • Deep knowledge of financial markets and instruments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Proven project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Data analytics capability (Power BI, Python or similar) advantageous.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline preferred.
  • Relevant professional or industry certifications highly regarded.
